I was bored earlier so fitted the debadged grill that I had on my 1.4 for a bit. Really not too sure about it though....what does everyone think??

The tinted headlights look spot on in those pics!

The headlights are nice, but I've never liked debadged grills.

They look crap, and why would you want to debadge your car?

Cheers Joe  I was gonna see if someone can photoshop them black. Shady did one for me before that looked quite good. I'm still not too sure about it myself tho, i'm thinking it might look better with the original grill & the slats painted black. You haven't got a spare GTI grill you wanna sell do you??

Lose the gti badge

I actually quite like the gti badge, personally I think the front of the car looks a bit empty without it  :undecided:

I do actually mate, I've got a black GTI grill sitting in the spare room, was going to spray it green but never got around to it..

Update:  As per title, got the lovely problem of not being able to rev past 5000rpm  Got a vagcom cable ordered that should be here in a couple of days so hopefully that'll shed some light.

Gave it a good clean yesterday and sprayed the debadged grill black. Decided to stop on the way home from work and take a couple of pics. Here's the result:

Mate that actually looks awesome. I know what you mean about it looking bare without the GTI badge on there, that's why I won't get rid of my VR6 badge, don't give a toss if everyone thinks I'm a dickhead, it's my car so I can do what I want with it.

Smoked fogs/blanks/indicators and a black rear badge would finish this off nicely, then when funds allow, a lovely set of rims and a healthy drop

I reckon I'm going to get myself a badgeless grill and do what you've done.. black slats, c/c bottom strip. Had planned on doing this for ages but you've just shown how good it looks with the smoked headlights so it's definately on my to do list!

not a fan of de badged grill, but its a improvement with the black slats, gti badge looks so out of place tho

shame about the splitter, knew them eurowagon ones were not as good as folk were saying, iv seen some pics where they dont meet the end of the bumper correct too. seems the OEM ones really are the only way to go

are u going to lower it?
