Should I chance it/bother?
« on: 05 July 2014, 21:34 »
Hi all,

Looking for some opinions and or advice.

I mistakenly used a contaminated cloth whilst polishing a section of my door and have put quite a few of the faintest scratches caused by grit in the cloth.
Now these scratches are faint and can be barely seen in sunlight but are a lot more noticeable ( to me anyway!) under artificial lighting in car parks.

I have tried SRP but this hasn't removed them so am thinking of using AG paint renovator to attempt to move them. These scratches cannot be felt with my finger they are that light but I know they are there!!
Is this a good idea or am I chancing adding more faint scratches? Or will this product, if used lightly leave the clear coat as it should be, clear! I am concerned that it may 'cloud' or leave equally faint scratches.

Has anyone used this product to remove faint grit marks like mine or should I just leave them alone?

Any advice or comments most welcome!

If they can't be felt with your finger nail then they can be polished out. SRP has very very little cut in it however so will not be up to the job. I would try something like megs 205 and work up from there if necessary.

As said it should polish out fine.  Plenty of polishes out there up to the job, Poorboys SSR 2 or above will do it, with the right pad combo.

Meguiars 205 & 105 should do the job.
