Carpet cleaning
« on: 21 August 2009, 20:56 »
A short while back my car took in some water. Though this is now sorted (afaik) the car has a slight smell and it is quite noticable. My question is do I have to take the carpet out in order to clean it or is there a way I can shampoo the whole thing without doing so?

Thanks

Andy

I've got a carpet cleaner that came in a tin with a brush on the end of it. Scrubbed the carpet & it smelt of wee for some reason.
Smells gone now. I left the carpet in.

Do you mean you had to clean it because someone/something pissed on the carpet, or the cleaner smelt of piss? :undecided:

Lol, the carpet smelt of piss from the last owners, probably dogs. The cleaning stuff smelt rather nice.

How much water was in the car? The reason i ask is that i suspect that the underlay will still be wet.....

Yea I kinda had a hunch about that. To be honest I've no idea as it was all pretty much soaked in by the time I found it. I was a bit concerned that shampooing it might make it worse rather than better?
