We needed to swap out the current 3 door for a 5 door for the other half (but for me to use when I want to put a big smile on my face and feel like an 19 year old again lol).

2 key reasons why I went got the mk6 gti - first was the new interior and toys like the rear camera, and second we couldn't get one with the right spec I wanted, so got a new one so could taylor the spec to how we wanted.
But... a 6 months wait again? Nah wouldn't have bothered if I could have got either a mk5 or a mk6 with a the right spec as I hate waiting, and the hassle of putting up with the 3 door while waiting.

Also that rear camera in the golf does seem to be the same as wha's in the Lexus IS if you've got the satnav option'd car.
