Induction Kit
« on: 09 October 2003, 18:42 »
Hello Peeps

I'm no modder or really that clued up on engines, but.....

Has anybody fitted an induction kit to their MK4 1.8T GTi?  if so...

What type?

Was it easy to do?

Did it make much of a difference to the performance?

That's quite a few questions there.

Cheers for your responses.

Keep your money !!!!

I put a ITG Performance panel filter in and it went fine for a couple of weeks then the car started cutting out whenever I came to a junction etc.

Took it off, had no probs since

Performance is just the same !

unless your plumbing the filter into the front air dam/bumper you can expect MAF sensor probs which will cause car to run rough, stalling, excessive fuel use etc, dont know why but check uk mk4s website  for more info, alot of people just run panel filters in there orig airboxes to avoid probs as MAF sensors between ?70-?90 to replace, you can clean but they f$?7 up in the end

Go for the induction kit, the airflow meter will work fine with it.
