welcome both engines are good ive owned both the 16v has defo more power but 8vs are easier to get i now own a 8v gti mk3 and its not that slow it has no engine mods and im not disappointed with the power it gives  :wink: but am impressed that im getting aroud 35mpg  :wink:
corrado 16v lowered,leather,grill,oz route,m3 lights polished engine,
mk1 golf cabby not alot done but in primer

well went to see first car yesterday n reg 8v  boy oh boy was that a neglected car  rust hole in tail gate blowing ex shabby cabin  the list goes on  so i back heeled it  and ive just got back in from veiwing a r reg 16v met blue 117000 on clock (is miles to much or ok) good condition new clutch fitted  but fault on clutch pedal not in line with  something  causing it to loose pressure but it s being sorted tommorrow .  so a think am gonna go with thios one as i like it verry much  .any input on this will be gratefully recieved .cheers andy :smiley:

That mileage is fine mate for a P reg. Lot less than mine!

  (r reg)a grand  plus just checked ins and its cheaper  am treating my self because am forty this year  midlife crisis thing  :grin:  . what mpg am i looking at onthe car
