Mk V Stereo replacement

Just ordered my new Mk V, and have a nice unit to replace the VW unit.

I spoke to the sales man and he didnt know if you can replace the stereo? He called a guy from the service dept to look at it and he said you probably could but it would effect your 3 year warranty!

Anyone know for sure if I can put my own unit into the new Mk V? Firstly how would you get the damn existing stereo out?

This is such a new area, that you may have to ask the VW garage to find out for sure about the warranty, replacement etc, as I doubt many people have got round to doing it yet. You could ask the garage to install the new item, and hopefully this would not void the warranty by doing it.
