vag-com on windows 7
« on: 15 August 2011, 12:50 »
Trying to get vag-com 409.1 working on w7. When in options testing the lead it says interface not found! I have done a fair bit of research but still can't get running. I have tryed the following:
Tryed a 2nd lead incase the first one was faulty
checked in device manager- it is using port 3
run the program as administrator
tryed moving the file out of program files (was told this might work?)
downloaded the latest version of vag-com off ross tech
Someone told me to change a few setting s in device manager for port 3- this didn't work so have changed back

Still have the same problem. Has anyone else overcome this problem with window 7? Or found an alternative? All else failing has anyone near warwick got vagcom they would be kind enough to do my Key coding, Alarm Beeps, Anti hijack & Auto windows etc. if it possible? The main reason for this was to enable cruise control. Although i haven't yet fitted it.

I gave up! There are people on here and other forums that are happy to put your car on their vagcom for you if local. I still want to set mine vagcom up on my laptop because it nice to fiddle if nothing else

You need to be sure its install on C drive and not in program files. Ive installed mine easy that why and works every time
