Do apologise if this has been answered already but could do with some advice regarding my cracked sunroof trim. Mk 7.5, sunroof trim has cracked for the third time! First 2 times it was under the original warranty. First time VW replaced the trim, second time I was led to believe they changed the sunroof cassette. I’ve now noticed it’s cracked again (in the same place as the two previous cracks). It’s now outside of the original warranty but I have the All Components Cover that comes with my service plan. I know this does not cover sunroofs however, just wondered if anybody had managed to get VW to replace the trim in this sort of situation and if so how you went about it

I think Japan measures speed and distance in kph and kilometres so the speedo and odometer won’t be correct for the UK. Additionally, there’s a chance that VW doesn’t apply the same level of corrosion protection to cars originally built for the Japanese market as Japan doesn’t grit its roads - maybe something to check out.

I’m inclined to agree with @2007GTI though; I’d look for a UK car rather than a Japanese import.

There are plenty of UK spec / supplied cars for sale, which you can track their history through previous MOTs.

So my advice is don't bother, unless very cheap, high spec and has proven service history.

Also who listens to FM these days, UK spec cars have DAB as standard.

Good afternoon All, I am in the process of looking to purchase a 2013 GTI that was imported from Japan. I have been to see the car and it looks really nice, very impressed with the drive and the DSG box performs as it should. I have a couple of issues that I need help with. Obviously this isn’t the first time and I can only assume this has been covered a few times over the years. The radio only goes to 91.6 FM and as we all know the preferred stations are all above the 100s. The sat nav last worked in the middle of the sea as that is where it shows when switching to NAV. Does anyone know if these can be set to UK settings. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Brand new in the box never been used crossdrilld  & slotted front and rear rotors for 2015-17 GTI that is equipped with the performance brake package , my previous GTI I owned wasn't equipped with the performance brake package so the rotors didn't fit, and my recent GTI i just purchased already has slotted rotors. I'm asking $225 for the set and will not separate them. I'm pretty firm on the price I will package and ship if you cover the shipping cost. I also have a used set of OEM front & rear rotors  off of a perf brake equipped GTI I will sell as a set as well for $100, in good shape no cracks or warppage . More than doubled in price over 16 years. Base Golf not much cheaper than what I paid for my GTI PP when I ordered it in June 2018😳

Refurbished by a very respected wheel refurbisher, when a small crack was observed when stripped back (not seen with the naked eye!). Welded and mentioned a very minor buckle, which they suggested was so slight as not to be an issue (apparently with the state of our roads many wheels present like this nowadays). I ran this for 2k miles, and absolutely no signs of vibration. However, I want to be clear about what I was told and listed as damaged. No returns.

As you would expect from being refurbished and ceramic coated with Gyeon RIM, the wheel face is mint.
 
£200 (tricky to value, so open to offers).

Collection from Bromley, Kent, or can post at cost.
