Cheers jv, really appreciate your time. Tried again, no img tags and yet it still doesn't work. I think my patience and interest have now been exhausted, I wasn't that fussed so I think I'll preserve any remaining sanity!

Thanks!

Hi jv, been trying again today, still not getting there. Link:

After all this I really need to know what I'm doing wrong. I've had teeth pulled easier than this!

Cheers!

To be brutally honest, this is the most convoluted and prehistoric system of posting images I've ever come across!

Whatever happened to cut/copy and paste?

Mk4 Golf TDI Estate 4Motion, remapped 1.9. Sweet runner = keeper. She is the 66th vehicle I've owned and hopefully, the last.

I don't know a forum that you can copy and paste images directly to.

Let me sort out those convolutions for you:

1 - upload image to photobucket
2 - click the IMG link next to the image and paste into forum post

Most of the forums I subscribe to...about 15 of them, you click the ' attachments and other options' which opens the 'browse' function, select the image from wherever you have stored it, click the insert image and it's done.

Thanks for explaining the system to me...but if it's that simple, why are people having problems?

By not actually following the instructions.

You have posted a link to a webpage not an image.

If I right click the mk4 pic from your link, in Chrome, I get 'open image in new tab'. Now look at that tab. This is the link:

http://img01.deviantart.net/3f18/i/2012/211/9/d/vw_golf_4_by_silvyumps-d5957rc.jpg

It's still not showing an image I hear you say. That's because you need to tell the forum to show it as an image not a link. Highlight the link in your post and click the picture icon (under the B for Bold) and it will put [ IMG ] tags around it so it comes out like:
