VW 505 00/ VW 500

Need to get car serviced soon and thinking of starting to use Castrol Magantec. Just checked out their site and their 15-40w range says that its the same spec as VW 505 00.

In my manual it says that VW 500 is what i should use , i know it sounds stupid but is the one castrol mention 'VW505' and 'VW500' or is 'VW 505 00' a different type altogether?

Also need to get a bloody rear bulb!!!

Go to autobulbs direct for that, is it easy to open the back light box and easiliy put the bulb on?

Its my first 'proper' car and i really would rather do these things myself as my previous car mazda 323f(ewwww!) i didnt really wanna know, now i finally own a golf id have fun knowing it inside out

as far as i know for a 1.8T 20v Edge 5W 30 is the right oil.

edge is better than magnatec

Do you think itll be the same for 2.0 GTi?

For the 2.0 GTi use 5w-40.
