Advice on new battery - lowest cost option
« on: 08 January 2021, 17:47 »
Hi

My Mk 5 diesel (the low power 85bhp one) is barely cranking in this cold weather and it can't have long left.  What's the cheapest option for a new battery for it?

Halfords have one for £92 but I was hoping for a cheaper one!

Does it need coding to the engine computer, or can a repleacement just be connected?

Many thanks

Straight replacement, won't have stop/start.
£92 isn't awfully much, but you should be able to get a Banner battery for less at a tyre/battery/exhaust place or indy parts dealer.
