Mk6 GTI spare key cost?
« on: 08 March 2019, 08:56 »
Can anyone advise the best/cheapest way to get a spare key for my Mk6 GTI?

I hear it's v. expensive via dealer?

You can get a new key and get it programmed for about £100 by shopping around: eg new blank key with fob and transponder from ebay for about £25 then need the key cut (about £20) and transponder programmed (about £60.00). If you have VCDS you can programme the key yourself. Think a dealer charges about £200 for the lot.
Carbon Grey, 2010 a few VCDS mods. White 2016 Polo GTI (roller skate on steroids!!)

There's no way in hell that you can code a key with VCDS on a mk6.
