Ha ha yeah.

Yeah the guy at the restore place is saying 205/40 R17 or 215/35 R17

Sound right?

Hope the backs dont rub though.  Im getting too old for serious modding
My new GF gives me no problems!  Unlike ALL of the rest!!  She's only 21, black and extremely sexy. Sure she may have a slight drinking problem but nothing is perfect right?   Her name is Vicky (The VR6) Highline and I am madly in love.

I did the same back in 1999  :smiley:

Hi mate,  got wheels on and they fit fine.

Since you can remember your mk3 exploits from 99 can you remember if you lowered your mk3?  If so by how much.  I'm mid 30s here, not 18.  I want a car that looks great but nothing way too extreme.  I was thinking 30ml front and rear but then looking at my golf it looks higher at the front than the back ?? Is there a reason for that?  Is it just my eyes ha

They often sag at the back with age. You can get lowered spring set ups which will drop it 30mm, but these invariably give the nose up issue that you currently have.

Best bet is a mid-range set of coilovers, as you can set the height exactly as you want it and will allow you to ensure that the arches clear the wheels. AP Coilovers are about £400 and give a good compromise between quality/ride and price.

If you want to spend a bit less, I ran FK AK streets for two years and was actually very impressed with them;

If you contact DPM Performance directly you may get them cheaper as think Damien is a sponsor on this forum.

Get some pics up :)

Hi mate,  thanks for all the excellent info.

I honestly don't think my car is sagging thought.  For EG the sills run perfectly flush with the ground. Was is sagging they would be higher at the front than the back.  Its bizarre. ha.

Great links and im very appreciative.  Thing is I already bought some springs lowering a 30mm drop all around. There a good make, I didnt buy the cheapest.  H&R. Were Best part of 200 notes (UK)  If these dont work out ill folow your links and give them a whirl.  Ill let you know how I get on.

Photos soon I promise BUT, at the mo I have a lush and dreamy VR6 3 door with 17s on unlowered. If I put a pic on here Admin would boot me as this isnt a 4x4 forum and thats the look I got going on at the mo haha.  30mm drop coming soon.  Springs delivered within the week and my old Army mate fitting them. But he's ex Infantry so a right sissy. Cant work in anything less than 15c  (Army banter, I love all forces)
