MK 7.5 Golf GTI Insurance
« on: 24 December 2018, 20:33 »
Hi All,

I'm looking at getting a MK 7.5 Golf GTI early next year. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good insurance companies? I'm currently 20 but will turn 21 in April the best quote I have had so far is £150 per month from direct line.

I've only gone through comparison sites and Direct Line so haven't done any of the 'smaller' insurance companies.

Thanks!

I can't imagine that smaller/specialist companies would offer cheaper cover, although they would be more likely to guarantee things like genuine parts, choice of body shop etc.

I'm assuming you've done the usual ticks of adding parents to the policy and increasing the excess where practical?

I'm 23 and confused.com had the best choices coming in at sub £1000 annually (MK7.5 PP)

I use A-Plan brokerage. They always beat the mainstream people by a good couple of hundred pounds. The cover levels are also really good from companies such as Ageas Optima
2019 GTI Performance.

You could try fitting a tracker or a black box to lower the monthly premiums. Especially for a new driver, it might work in your favor.

Go-Skippy with my dad on came back the best for me. Comprehensive cover with 18,000miles a year for a few thousand pound less than anywhere else, plus most places wouldn't even give me a quote. One of the only places that would do without a black box too as i'm only 17.
