From threads I have read on the Skoda forum it makes a lot of difference but will make the steering heavier.

PAS is dangerous IMO.

You cant feel the car properly when a pump is turning for you  :smug:

I wouldn't go that far.  Some cars have excellent PAS with speed sensitive weight and feedback...  I suppose early PAS can be like a POS.

Really?

Oh, and non pas can get a little twitchy when running 240bhp through the front wheels

you own a mk3 tho, pas or no pas its not going round any corners fast.

in a mk2 i rate pas over non pas.    the non pas racks are to long. and pas helps you react faster to catch the car when it twitches, there is a penalty of some feel but there is plenty left.  a faster pas rack is allways a good idea imo

manual quick racks can get a bit much  if driveing any distance
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Oh yes - it's in the news daily that accidents take place where power steering is highlighted as the cause.

Seriously, W T F?
Yes, I probably am going to hell.
But it's warm and I'll be among friends.
