« on: 05 June 2012, 16:57 »
for people that have been reading on the tdi section iv fitted another turbo to my car and i have no boost at all so iv looked into this and found out the n75 has had its day i think ? its sucking but extreamly lightley and i know i should not but iv still had to use the car with the turbo not working at the mo and this morning the brakes felt a little hard after i dabed them so i pressed the peddle a few times .. peddle goes rock hard and almost no braking at all .. drive down the road and they come back ?? is this the survo now as well or has the vac system got something to do with the brakes ?
thanks for reading guys

I had these symptoms but my brakes were spongey, I changed n75 valve and it wasn't that. It turns out to be the actuator on the turbo was seized.. Check that only takes mins mate.

I had this last year on my 2002 GT TDI 130. It happened a couple of times randomly and when I released the pedal and pressed down again all was ok. Quite scary though!

Then one day the pedal went rock hard with almost no braking at all, in traffic and it wouldnt go away. My local specialist thought it was vacuum pump but the vacuum was good when the pipe was removed. It turned out to be the servo, once they changed the servo all has been great since. They said that they don't do many, but about the same time they had a couple of Audi A4's do the same thing.

Yours could be the vacuum pump, but be ready for it being the servo.
