What are these marks caused by?

Can anyone tell me what these bizarre white marks are? They look like watermarks but appear to be deeper 

I spent a whole day recently claying, polishing (britemax, AG SRP, 2 coats of jetseal and wax) and the car still looks crap up close. Are these marks fixable or am I going to need to invest in a machine polisher?

will prob polish up okay , decent wax /sealant might help against it

bleaching from water spots, you will need to get it machine polished tbh to get them out completely then seal and wax to protect it, the sealant will give you uv protection and durabilty and the wax will help with beading and sheeting.

  I'd have to be a pretty good aim to get it over the roof and down the bonnet.


Ta guys. I'll try remove them by hand again but I think it might be time to invest a machine polisher. Trouble is I'm proper scared of f*cking the paint up more.

Can you recommend anything on a budget? Basic sort of starter kit? (I know nothing about machine polishing so advice appreciated  )

if you're getting a DA then the Kestrel DAS-6 Pro is the best one I have used
