wing 'whip' aerial
« on: 31 March 2011, 00:08 »
i currently have a horrible rubber aerial on the wing of the mk1... it looks like this

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_166911_langId_-1_categoryId_165626

i want to replace it with a modern looking 'whip' type roof style aerial, obviously that can be mounted on a wing vertically instead of pointing backwards, but can't for the life of me find one?

has anyone got any suggestions please?

I had a look and they are a bit 'fat' and the ones I had seen look uber expensive

I was more after something like this..

right... i think I have found it.. just got to speak to BMW

its the aerials that feature on their convertibles... took a good look at one tonight in london and I think it will do the job perfectly

unless anyone can specify a good BMW aerial supplier?

Hella from memory.

Why not fit an electric one, not that expensive and easy to fit.

i could have gone down that option at the beginning... its just that, in a similar way to the rear aero wiper on the mk3, I want something that will look good and work properly, suit the car etc... I know what I am after... its just finding it
