My Passat V6 TDI has been Superchipped for over 5 years and has been faultless.

It may not produce the bigger numbers of other tuners maps, but the extra power is very smooth and linear. It feels just like the standard car, but turned up to 13.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

MPG with bluefin is actually up on a normal run. (5% ish)

MPG is way, way down on a fun run

Has any bluefinned mk6 owner had any sort of problem at all??

Please report. I've not heard of any yet.

Personally I've found it to be fantastic.

There must be some downside to the cheap (ish), easy to install and convenient extra 50 - 60 bhp.

None that I've heard, only if they send you the wrong coded map in the 1st place, which has been known to happen, including myself.

customer care is and has been 1st class in my experience.

I had mine BF about 20,000km ago and it has been faultless. There was an initial hesitation to change up on full throttle sprints where the revs will drop to 5000rpm before upchanging but superchips responded to my inquiry with a new map that fixed it.

How "officially supported" are these remappers? Do they affect warranty or servicing?
My Mk6 GTI is leased, a company car, so all servicing bills and warranty etc is owned by the leasing company.
I dont imagine they'd approve of me installing a remapper - but if I did, are they ever likely to find out?
Is it something I can remove before servicing?
If I do remove it, will the dealer know its been installed - is there a record somewhere of it having been remapped and then removed?

I'm sure you get the picture - any help appreciated

I don't know if they still do, but Superchips used to give a warranty that would cover any issues related to the re-map for the remaining length of the manufacturers warranty.

Both of out daily cars have been re-mapped and the dealers were well aware of this. Both cars had warranty claims and were sorted no problem. It's still a job for the dealers after all, so they are hardly going to turn the work away.

With Bluefin, you are able to return the car to standard before it goes in to the dealers if you want. Other companies that state then can do the same aren't exacatly truthfull about that. What they give you is a de-tuned version of the re-map so that it feels like it has gone back to standard. The problem with this is if the dealer uploads revised files, it over writes your performance map and you are back to square one.

There's also the issue of insurance. Does anyone actually declare it as a mod???

No issues as before, do they have windows 7 supported yet.

Changed the MAP once when I requested, very quick to respond.

Just tell them you have DSG as I think it is a slightly different map.

I had it on my MK5 DSG GTI for four years with no issues
