Speakers
« on: 12 August 2003, 13:55 »
I want to replace my 6x4 original speakers in my cabriolet door pockets with the same size but better quality speakers.
Can anyone recommend a good make and source?
TIA.

Hmmm, just had a quick look. Looks like a good site, thanks.
Do you recommend any particular brand i.e Kenwood, Blaupunkt? Or are they all much the same these days? I'm not particularly fussed about the brand I just want the best replacement for as little as possible............or do you tend to get what you pay for?

You do get what you pay for but as it is your second car it's probably not worth going too mad. Forty quid would be enough I reckon.

Going to use this post as a good excuse for a car audio section of it's own  :)

I have Kenwood 6x4 in the back, they seem pretty good, Got them from edworthys for about ?45. Kenwood only make one 6x4 with or without a plastic cover so it shouldn't be hard to locate. You'll see them soon anyway, Rich
I don't own this anymore - I just can't be arsed to change the picture

I know MB Quart do a speaker in that size and they tend to be really good at what they do.

I've never heard of 'AVI'. I do have a spare amp kicking around though so that wouldn't be a problem.
Do 'AVI' have a website?
