lol i dont mind!

Right im going to have to change direction with the colour scheme in my engine bay as i've realised that the gold is haenous! So im thinking paint silver what i cant have chromed and one by one replace everything till its chrome and matt black!

Also i have discovered something called POR-15, its available from frost and its basicly a hardcore version of hammerite, its 20 quid for a small tin but a little does go a long way, hopefully my chassis will now outlast the body!

Quick update! cameras on the blink so no photos!

right well, the engine is in! however i have since discovered that its a 1.8 driver block, which aparently is a good thing as it makes for high compression. any thoughts on that???

all the welding on the drivers side rear arch is done but im going to have to wait for cash to apear till i can move forward on anything else!

Things left to do:

de-cat pipe
fit backbox
get repair panels for N/S arch
extend wiring loom
sort out the knock sensor
Tax sad2
locate my ignition amplifier thats floating around in chris's garage somewhere!

i have also aquired a new project for when this one is finnished, in the shape of a pre 90 VR6! lovely jubly!

Another quick update! The engine i got is a pile o sh!te! way too high compresion, im completely out of love with the 8v idea now, but still totally smitten with the car itself so im moving on a totally new tack right now, my plan is to save save save and then we're going GT TDI 130! Dont know why more people don't do it! currently selling off everything and looking for a rear ender mk4 with around 100k. once ive finnished if its crap im gonna burn it!  tongue

quick update!

Whilst saving for my tdi motor i came accross a rather nice re-built pb motor, from a freind so had that and its now in the car, wiring is pretty much done, just some tidying to do. it turns over, havnt started it yet as i want to make sure the flywheel is on correctly as it goes on 2 ways instead of the 1 way :s and that its timed up ok.

things to do:

Tidy up the last of the wiring
Purchace de-cat pipe
Sort out breather hoses
N/S rear arch welding
Rip rear brakes apart and bleed
New clutch cable needed
Tax
Tracking
4 new T1-R's ideally.

not too much left really!

So now im stating to think about the summer and more importantly the winter!

Summer all i plan to do it protect the metal where its starting to go. not really fussed about what i loks like as long as the rust doesnt get any worse. Also want all the brake pipes replaced, already got all new braided hoses for the callipers and a brand new bias valve. want G60 fronts and mk4 rears as they dont seize.

then for winter...
time to focus on bodywork! full stripdown and paint!

cant wait! so close!
