Now i have to say i have been a little dissapointed with the exhaust note since I got the car, but i guess this is also down to not going over 3000revs 4000revs 5000revs ok if Im honest 5500revs but yesterday on a longer motorway journey i noticed that the exhuast is now sounding a little different.

A little more fruity shall we say... anyone else notice the note changing over time???

Can't say I've noticed it changing, but I enjoy its 'V8 growl' at low revs - when pulling away from a standstill, for instance.

I`ve noticed mine is getting deeper it kind of growls more at high revs now,for instance i over took a car on the way back from wales on friday there was a group of young farmers standing on the back of a trailer in a lay by just chewing the fat when i opened up the golf they all span around to look smiley

as far as common sense dictates - only v8 engines produce a v8 growl.
