Intercooler boost hoses
« on: 08 December 2014, 14:57 »
As you are no doubt all aware, the standard intercooler boost hoses are not very good (either leaking or blowing off) on the golf MK5 140 bkd (same as MK5 GTI I believe). What are the alternatives, any better designs out there to eradicate this problem. As it stands, I see  using an S3 intercooler and cutting pipes down and using jubilee clips as a solution. Not sure if forge boost hosoes are based ont he same original design and therefore prone to leaks etc?
Any ideas anybody or solutions except for using self tapping screws (read as a cheap fix on another forum).

As you said S3 and cut the original pipes. Use mikalor clamps instead of jubilee clips.
