Title: Need to clear Oil Sensor Workshop message after lockout
Post by: smiiithy on 19 February 2011, 12:18
Hi all,

I'm looking for some help. Before xmas I had a lockout, due to the fact my microswitches don't work and my car often locks itself..

I started getting the OIL SENSOR WORKSHOP message upon the first start of the car. I called the RAC who came out to clear the warning using a diagnostic computer. In the process, the mechanic also left the keys in the car and again caused a lockout (I did warn him). After retrieving the keys once more he cleared the warning and went on his way.

The warning came back about weeks later. When I was again visited by the RAC (we are on first name terms) due to a flat tyre and broken jack they tried to clear the warning, but there were no fault codes present on the diagnostic. I have left the fault since then but am planning to sell the car and don't want the warning flashing up. Can anybody advise on the cheapest course of action to clear the warning?

Cheers,

Smiiithy

Might you be able to give me a hand? Also got a fault with the loss of traction warning. ESP wont work ever since I hit a pothole and had to replace my tyre, lower suspension arm and have my alloy wheel straightened. Last time I had a flat it came on and went away a day after I replaced the tyre.

If the code will not clear it could be a faulty sensor.

That's why I coded mine out  :lipsrsealed:

Figured if the oil warning came on it was too late for the engine anyway as its at the very bottom of the sump!

That's why you should check your oil level on a weekly basis  :nerd:

Sound advice :afro:, I check my oil level monthly but I don't do many miles.
