Chains, engine problems and drink fuel.

+1

V5 is the biggest pointless model in the Mk4 range. 1.8T is a much better bet

its probably alright for towing or something

to be fair i reckon it would be faster than a 150 1.8t quite a bit, the 180's though probably not. assuming all were standard.

yeah a mapped 1.8t would be faster, but then if you're not tuning it it doesnt matter

looked at a toledo v5 once  :embarassed: and it sounded pretty cool for a weird engine.

but expect the its not a 1.8t crew to turn up soonish

I quite like the V5. As said, if you're not tuning, then it's quicker than a turbo, plus no turbo lag issues, plus sounds cool when you give it the beans.
80% of your posts are total tripe, as they are mostly replies to sh1te posts created by the morons that, unfortunately this forum attracts.

I own a v5 170 which replaced my bora 180bhp 1.8t. I have found the v5 to be as quick and alot smoother and now enjoy getting away from the lights when i put my foot down and not waiting half the week for the turbo to catch up. Plus just added an induction kit that makes the 5 cylinder warble sound amazing.
Don't get me wrong I loved my 1.8t but for everyday drive ability and performance the v5 has proved to be much better apart from the fuel, I get about 5mpg less on runs compared to 1.8t.
On the tuning side a supercharger kit is just about to be launched with up to 3 stages all the way up to about 220-270 ish which is more than an aum or auq can manage without having to have a bigger turbo.
