What do we all think of the standard Richmond alloys for the Mk8 GTi

Really like them. Don't understand the hate.

They're ok. I can live with them no problem.

Not keen, but I wouldn't pay to change for something else.

Hate them, would definitely pay to upgrade or swap for aftermarket wheels.
19 (44.2%)

Parkers are a good looking wheel perfectly suited to the Golf GTI. The internet is wrong.

Yeah, every time I look at mine, I really do wonder why a few people on here hate them.

The GTI alloys are probably the most distinctive and obvious part of the car. The car would look less like a GTI without the stock alloys.

This reminds me of the fella that went to buy Golf R. His wife and son went with him. There was a Golf R in the showroom. He was telling his family that he didn't like the Cadiz alloys. They looked at the options. Both his wife and son though that the Cadiz alloys looked better than the alternatives. He was surprised.

When I first had my Golf, I was parked waiting for my wife. It was a warm day so I had the windows down slightly. There was a boy around 10 years old standing beside my car. I heard him say admiringly, "wow, look at those alloys daddy!" The unbiased opinion of that boy means far more to me than a few internet haters.

To be fair, it was just a very few, very vocal people on the internet. Though, I would never use the language they used to describe another persons car/alloys.

Having had two GTIs with Austins I lamented their passing on the 7.5.
That feeling has just about gone now and I have the purely subjective feeling that Parkers are maybe a bit more robust? Maybe that’s an illusion.
A common cry on the forum used to be the amount of white worm spreading on Austins. I haven’t heard the same extent of complaints with Parkers.
Again, is that simply my illusion?
Finally, I like a wheel that is “signature” as it is often the universally recognised feature.

Yeah, people should be careful what they say about another man's alloys.

I like aerodynamic wheels with more surface but I'm one of the few

Liked the parker, and the richmond too although they're overcomplicated in the middle. But you only notice from one view.

I also like the Skoda Comet (just as an example).
