Title: **Urgent** - No clutch 1.8t AUM (i think) 2002
Post by: Manford on 10 August 2017, 09:01
I drove the car yesterday no issues at all, got in the car this morning, no clutch

Pedal still has weight behind it, feels totally normal but car wont go into gear.

Got the missus to go on and off the clutch, I can hear something moving under the bonnet, but I couldnt see where. Didnt have time to start pulling things to pieces this morning.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Checked this eve and I can't see any fluid on top of the gearbox by the clutch master cylinder

Is there anyway to prove slave or master cylinder?

Will vcds give me any useful info?

Unbolt slave cylinder and see if it moves with pedal pressed.

Time for stupid question number one - should the slave cylinder retracted or extended when I unbolt it? I'm assuming I shouldn't be able to be able to just push it in?

Sooo, clutch slave and master replaced - no change.

Pedal feels like its all working, but clutch doesn't disengage.....looks like a trip to the garage....

Had new clutch fitted yesterday, clutch was seized together, reckon from the rain we had last wednesday.

Clutch was on its last legs looking at it so would have needed doing soon either way.
