golfgti forum engine wiki
« on: 10 July 2009, 21:33 »
stole the idea from a different site (axoc) but the idea is to list everything from knowlege and other sources.. for example, engines, what internals they have: piston sizes, compression, rod size, pin size, journal size, bore/stroke and so on.
i think it would be a good reference to go on for sourcing bits to build a hybrid engine..
not just about engines, but the whole car and marks, what bits fit what and so on..
whats your thoughts?.

hmm..would take an awful long time to get all that info in there

unless we can find somewhere to steal a whole lot with copy&paste

interesting idea though, even things like ECU numbers can be a b!tch to find all in one place so i can see how it would be useful.

I think he is and I think a Golf GTI wiki would be a great idea.  It's hardly a tough thing to set up, especially if it's standalone and if there isn't a 'pay' element to it.

It would also help mark GGTI out in the VW world and differentiate it over other Golf sites....

Why limit it to engines though?

Golf wiki would make more sense.  I'm happy to contribute what teknicul nolidge I have knocking about.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

spot idea. different people with different cars and different engines can all contribute so we have a nice database to refer too.

didnt mean to limit it to engines, just had engines in mind as i would love to build a hybrid engine from all sorts of other bits..
but i can see you catch my drift, i think it would be a very useful tool..
