R-Tech Mk3 Tdi tuning request....
« on: 10 December 2009, 00:15 »
Hi to the R-Tech team,

I came across this in a previous thread regarding tuning a Mk3 Tdi 90bhp:

''We can chip tune the mk3 TDI ecus, power gains will be around 25bhp30lbft. The ECU will need a new set of chips for the software to be loaded on to.
The price for the chips and remap software will be £200 fitted.''

Does this stand true?, and if so..as im likely to be in your neck of the woods this weekend, would you be able to fit me in for a chip tune? (saturday 12th)

Im sure it makes no diff to you, but its an estate/variant , 99 T plate Mk3.

Cheers

Jamie

Hello,

20-25bhp / 30lbft is a realistic power gain from the remap (chiptune) session, not massive power gains live the PD boys, but the power you will gain will be linear across the whole rpm range.

Sat the 12th is fully booked already sorry to say,

Where are you comming from??

Nick

I'll be coming up from west london to birmingham, and back down again..

Shame...would be nice to kill 2 birds, but I guess I'll have to make it up your way on another occasion. unless you open on Sundays?!

Sunday working hours = divorce for me.. :lipsrsealed:

I already have a chip tune job on in the afternoon, which will take 3 hours plus a Ford Focus TDCI, plus 2 Golfs in the morning, which has full filled the day up.  If I could fit you in I would get you in, but I dont like to rush jobs, even more so when I have to get the soldering iron out and remove 2 small chips with 64 fine legs between them.

When you due back up this way again?

Nick

TBH I dont tend to head north of the Watford Gap very often!

I reckon ill have to make an exception though and head up one weekend soon as I imagine the old girl would feel more awake with an extra 20 brake or so and i've always fancied seeing what a chip tune session can do.

If I chose to add bigger injectors (like from the 110bhp mk3's) at a later date would it require another tuning session to get the best out of them?
