There are threads on here about it, apparently an oil change is due at 3 years or 30k miles. The difficult bit is getting your dealer to know what you are talking about and quote you for it. I've asked mine twice and I'm no further.....

When my PP was at 3 years old I asked VW about the diff oil change. They did not have any knowledge of this.

They contacted VW head office and it tied up with other info online that there was a service scheduled.

This was around £60 and uses the regular Haldex fluid, from the colour of the fluid that came out I am glad I had this done.

For peace of mind and any potential future cost of replacement, I thought this was money well spent.

I have other cars with diff plates, the diff plates do not last forever, especially with old fluid.

Had this done as an 'extra' while the car was in for its 3rd service. VW (Specialist Volkswagen) dealer charged £110 inc VAT. No noticeable difference, but peace of mind as I'll have this car for another two or 3 years yet....

Hi I have changed it and you really do need to take the pump off at the same time and clean the filter, then blow through the top of diff to clear any dirty fluid out, this is the recommended way by a company that makes haldex pumps, otherwise you will end up with load of crap still left in and if the gauze on the pump blocks ur pump will fail
