MK2 speaker upgrade

Finally I've decided to do something about the speakers in my 1991 Golf Driver. Its got two in the dash, door pocket speakers, and also the 6x4 at the back.
I need some good quality speakers so I'm not too fussed about cost (obviousely I cant afford £70 pair though).

Also I want to keep the car looking completely standard. I have been to a car audio shop and the 13cm speakers I tried did not fit properly onto the OE speaker grills. Do I have to get custom ones or are there some that will fit the grills and look exactly the same as the old speakers used to. Likewise for the dash speakers, just really want them to drop in place of the old ones and for the grill the fit properly.
