Quality takes time and you mk1 deserves all the TLC it is receiving

Not sure what happened to my old Mk1, I believe Chris found a good home for it...........I'll chase him up and see if there any pics/updates available.

Well said.... yeah, would be interesting to know what happened to it, last i heard it was going to end up as a 2.1 stripped out track car!

I know what u mean and I never use to like mk1s until I started lookin for one then they grew on me, I think its cos there a bit special to have. And with a 16v in it it'll b the perfect sleeper in my eyes.
Its good to know that peoples comment give you the drive to soldier through and get the project closer to perfection in the owners eyed. :) :D

My mission this weekend is to get the wings prepped, painted and fitted.  I'd already done quite a bit to the £25 near side blue one but needed more.

As I left it

after finding more imperfections I gave it another skim then sanded like a mofo, 80, 120, 200, 400 grit.

then primed it and hung it to dry

Got to work on the orginal off side wing, same again with the sanding

No need to prime as its original paint was very good, with the right surface out came the satin, you may notice lines around the arch, this is a marker for the kit.. sorry for rubbish pic but worked though the night!

Also started to crack on with the BBS bodykit... I had already made a start on the laborious sanding that was required!

Got one skirt primed

I have made a lot of progress on the rest of the kit.... more to come very soon!
