New Clutch

Does anyone know how much a new clutch costs to replace on a Mk 4 turbo 2002 I've heard a lot of horror stories of them costing 1000 pounds this can't be right surely !!!!!!!!!!!!

A Mk 4 2002 Golf I was viewing at the weekend had a bill within its service history for a new clutch - this was a VW dealer and to supply and fit was just under £400.

you can get the clutch £220 from vw . but have also heard you can use a flywheel from a g60 singlemass flywheel and a vr6 clutchkit there is a guy on ukmkivs that has done it

Cheers lads I just heard you have to replace the flywheel at the same time and it costs a thousand pounds fitted

I got mine done at "Mr clutch" for a new one not recon, 6 mnths later, its gone again, they replaced it under warrenty, but said it was due to driving style (my dads driving) and wouldnt honour the warrenty if it went again!
