You turn stop start off by either setting the temperature or voltage dude, there's no actual turn off

So I tried to turn off the start stop in my mums 2015 Polo, used adaptions, turned it to not active and it said change accepted, then a warning message came up on dash, and the bloody thing is not turned off! Did it twice, exactly the same!

Any ideas?

I would use the app to set it back to ‘on’ in an attempt to remove the coding the app has performed then use long coding to disable it.

This is what I'd do too.  And why long coding/adaptation is preferable method of making adaptations with apps imo.

Disable stop/start

1) Select Control unit 19
2) Select Adaptation
3) Select Stop start limit voltage
4) Change value to 12 (default is 7.6)
5) Press the green tick to confirm

Just to say the original adaption a tried to make was under engine module.  I went back to set it to on as suggested, but it was already on, so obv didn’t work before.

I just followed that guide above and set the voltage to 12 and it has worked, thanks.

Just curious exactly how changing that voltage value affects the stop start?

It simply changes the voltage to a limit that stop/start is required to reach to kick in which if set at 12, it will never reach and so S/S won't function.  The engine coolant temp method uses same principle, it will never achieve adapted set temp so stop start won't kick in. It can probably be explained better given more time.

Essentially stop-start only works (i.e. automatically turns engine off and restarts if required) when certain parameters are met. Two of these are the battery voltage and the coolant temperature, using adaptations these parameters can be edited.
Depending on the car's model year if you set either of these to within what the car sees as a valid number but outside of what you'd realistically get  presto, S-S will no longer work.

It will still restart the engine if you stalled it when you push clutch down again all the way - at least with keyless.
