Shame your not nearer would have taken you up on that offer.

Anyone nearer with the tools thats up for some extra cash to this for me?

Got the parts on order with the stealers will be in tomorrow. I have put the part numbers and prices if anyone needs to do theres.

6R0501541A  Bush  £18.82 each
N10106402    Nut   £0.71  each
N10409903    Bolt   £2.66  each

The dealers have changed the bush and been uprated from the standard one and has more rubber with less voids so hopefully better. Now find someone to fit it ...

Hi mate, i was qouted £111 all in from john austin the VW specialist at marks tey to do the rear axle beam bushes, that includes the parts, labour and VAT.

no idea mate, would assume so as they are a specialist but im gonna supply the uprated cupra ones anyway when i get mine done so not really bothered

I had mine bushes replaced about a year ago with the powerflex ones, by my usual garage. The originals had done 90,000 which I didn't think was too bad!

He'd never fitted these ones before but said they should last a lot longer than the standard VW ones that he normally uses.

The only downside I've noticed is that they're a little harder than the stock item but seems to hold the rear well when cornering. I suppose you can't have it all!  :cool:

Cars booked in Wednesday morning £120 labour so not to bad......

Cheers for the info Rick thats was a really good price just a bit far from me and would have had to use a flat bed lol, will be keeping him in mind tho for future repairs ......

Got the golf back from having the bushes replaced all seems to be fine now no more banging or horrible sounds. Can finely get the tt comps back on now... :smiley: happy days............

check the condition of your shocks while your at it (if they are original)

PITA of a job to change and in this weather...deffo wont do it!

Cheers mate the mechanic had a look round and said it all seemed to be sound.

Roll on the summer when we can get all the repairs done and not freeze while were at it.....
