not declaring points on insurance?

Hi, I am an 18 year old male driving a 1.6 mk3 golf and I just got my insurance renewal through for £2200! I shopped around for insurance and the cheapest I could find was around £1700
Its so high because I got points on my licence from when I was younger and had a moped, I also have a claim on my insurance now (my wheel fell off whilst driving and hit another car!).
Anyway I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what would happen if I didnt declare the points to my insurance company as they are no longer on my licence but are meant to stay on your insurance for 5 years. Is there anyway they can find out I used to have points on my licence?
My insurance would be like £300 cheaper without these points and i cant afford to declare them, plus I really dont want to be driving a daewoo matiz or suzuki alto

Not declaring any past points or accidents within the time frame the insurer requests will devoid your policy.  So if you lie and have a crash you'll have p*ssed £1700 up the wall, ruined somebody else's day and be in some serious sh*t which could result in a driving ban.  You'll be back to square one with an even bigger hill to climb when you're allowed back on the road.

This'll happen even if you rear end somebody at low impact speed.  Basically any claim (accident or theft) and your insurer will be running a full check on your past before they even think about paying out.

Yup the Fuzz don't like this kind of silly business and I'll be kicking your a*s for making my insurance policy increase each year.

So your insurance will be £300.00 cheaper if you don't declare them, considering your premium is £2200.00, you probably can't afford to drive if you can't afford declare your points.  Suck it up, buy a sh!t car to drive around in for  another year or so.

yer i wouldnt try and hide it as the insurance company will
probably already know you have points etc,
i had a friend that did this then crashed his car and the courts slap him with a huge fine....
