Hello all,
just had my first problem with my MK4 Golf GTI, its service light is blinding me.
car drives great except now if I try to "floor it" when overtaking etc, it seems to loose powre and stutters, yet if I accelerate slowly it runs perfect!
the loss of power worries me. I also noticed it sounds as tho the exhaust has a hole in it, but when I out up on the ramp I couldn see any, unless its where t connects to the engine.
I got myself error code reader and cable, FREE version but yet it does the trick
here is what I found...
16806 - Main Catalyst: Bank 1 : Efficiency Below Threshold
P0422 - 35-00
17834 - EVAP Purge Valve (N80): Open Circuit
P1426 - 35-10
I ask, could hole in the exhaust lead to these symtons?
