Title: mk7.5 best polish and wax for tornado red

looking to get some polishing/waxing products for my brand new 7.5.  Thinking of sticking with meguiars but since i did not have this paint color before i need to make sure i am getting the most appropriate stuff.  Anyone with a tornado red one who's tried and tested specific products?

Hi mate.. I'm following this as I've also just bought a Tornado red GTI.

In the past I've always used MER and have had great results.

For ease of use, price and making that red pop, you won't go far wrong with Poorboys Nattys Paste Red.

As with any product tho', results are dependent on on the preparation stages prior to the wax application.

I've just ordered the poor boys wax, thanks for the tip. I've alsonordered some poor boys wheel sealant.

Another TR owner here and yes, it is a great colour and by far the best flat colour I've seen. I've always preferred metallic/pearl but the way the red catches the light is great. Never fails to cheer me up when I see it :smiley:

Anyway, I have very limited experience with wax/sealent but I have been impressed by FinishKare 1000P. About £18 for a good size tub and is high temperature resistant. Not sure how long it lasts exactly but mine is still beading well and I can't remember when I last applied it, definitely not this year though so I'm thinking perhaps October. Recently I bought some wax from the same brand called Pink Wax, also about £18. I haven't used it on my own car but I did on my sister's car a few weeks ago. Applied the 1000P first then the wax. The finish was really good, a great depth to the shine and bird poo just rinsed off, really looking forward to doing mine with it. My sister was amazed (mind you it was pretty bogging when I got it).

inclining towards getting Meguiar's liquid wax which has excellent reviews but i was/am worried whether that's actually fitting for such a bright paint.  Has anyone used that on TR?  Keep in mind i live in a place where there's sun 300 days a year, 100 of which read 35-40 celcium. Does that require more frequent waxing you reckon?
