Clutch change recommendations: ADZ 1.8 engine
« on: 27 December 2017, 21:46 »
Hello there,

First post - second time MK3 owner. Found a little beauty with 50k on the clock and stacks of service history. I am currently doing the belts, water pump and Tstat but also think the clutch needs doing quite soon.

I've read that the clutch/flywheel is back to front on some of the mark 3's and that it's really a two person job (and that probably wont include me).

I wouild like to know:

- If the ADZ engine means the clutch is behind the flywheel
- What 'while you're in there jobs should/could be done when the clutch is out
- Can you recommend a specialist/garage who knows their way around these cars so that I can have confidence in the job
- What I should expect to pay with/without parts for this job.

Many thanks and good to be on board again -Happy Christmas to one and all!

James

If its only done 50k it means its been standing still a lot.

I would be fitting new clutch cable first/anyway

Thanks very much. Who would you recommend taking on a clutch change?
