Don't worry until its out of warranty, finding faults after its out of warranty can be a worry, but until then just enjoy

Hmm curious to know people's thoughts on this one then if this true. If it's an official recall does it matter if your car is modified? I know on the big pd injector issue, modified cars still got new injectors foc but this is a bit more directly effect if you know what I mean

I would like to think that the recall is still valid, what they sold you is thought not to be up to standard.  It has nothing to do with what you've done since.

Come on guys, stop panicking

You know as well as I do, that the minute anything goes wrong with a single members car on this forum (n matter how small and insignificant) , it's posted on here immediately and everyone else then starts second guessing if their car's affected.

In all the dozens of potential "faults" mentioned on this forum (and other UK forums), I've not yet seen one about a failed Turbo on a GTI (unless I am mistaken). Even if there is a recall somewhere else in the world, circumstances could be different or it might just affect a tiny proportion of cars. Enjoy your car, knowing you have a 3 year warranty should anything go wrong.

You're right Sootchucker. But over on the other forum one guys turbo failed (Q revision) I believe & he had APR Stage 1 installed. He reverted to stock map when he went back to the dealer but they denied a mechanical fault & blamed the APR software which resulted in him being billed for a new turbo.

It's just irritating when the August sale is on for Revo software but if the turbos are weak they'll probably pop and then were out of pocket.

Yes you could say don't modify your car then but since when can't a VW handle a stage 1.

Have you a link to this please?

In case guys are wondering what turbo they might have, my car is BW50 2013 and I have revision Q so cars older than that definitely have the suspect turbo.

This will stop me getting a remap until there is more information on it.
