Title: Audi Wagon
Post by: Organisys on 10 August 2009, 12:54
Well, got this a few months back now, as I was moving house and had alot if boring DIY and Gardening to do, however since then I have started cleaning up the interior and polishing it, and changing a few bits.

Pics later, but externally so far I have sprayed the grille black, changed the side repeaters from amber to clears, fitted a stubby ariel, some new number plates, de-badged the rear boot, and removed the rear wash wipe.

I've also changed all the old man wood effect trim on the interior for some carbon effect from another A4.

I've also been hoarding parts, and some of these are going to be fitted soon...I've got

BBS CH 18" - 8J ET43 which I have just had refurbed in very 90s anthracite!
215/35/18s Eagle F1s to go on.
20mm back and 8mm front Eibach Spacers
Weitec Lowering springs.
Audi B5 S4 Front Brakes.

I got an A4 Avant too, though not quite such a juicy one, only the 1.8 20v n/a.

Grrr, despite being told the S4 Calipers were a direct fit, there is no way they are going on the existing uprights, searching for an S4 being broken now for the uprights. Minor hassle, they will just have to fitted another time.

Lesson learn't - do your own research...

Still, Coils, Wheels, Tyres will now be done before e38.

Well, coils are on and it's sat a bit high, waiting for some settlement before dropping and alignment is done before e38.

Sump currently being welded (not buy me) and he said it's been welded at least twice before!
We may need to fab a sumpguard in the future.!!

New coilpack is going on to cure a small misfire..

Need to order some caps from Audi for the wheels....

Hmmm somehow I've missed this, but looking good! Are they actual CH's? Ithought they all had the Motorsport writing, these look like the mk5 wheels?
Title: Re: Audi Wagon
Post by: Organisys on 29 September 2009, 21:54
They are BBS CH's made for Audi, I think they come as an S-Line option ?
Seem to be exactly the same as CH minus the writing. Yeah, think the Mk5 ones are the same.

Arrrgghhh, they are re-surfacing the road outside my house, just whacked the chassis somewhere on a raised drain, too dark to see what took the whack, lets hope it was the ARB, not the sump!

Sump Ok, but on my way to work this morning and the low coolant light came on, dumped it in the work car park, and steam everywhere, off to top it up now in my lunch break.

I'm probably only going to get reps anywho, not really bothered about the real/replica thing.. I do stupid amounts of miles and so dont want to have to worry about them getting dirty and staying dirty for a week
Title: Re: Audi Wagon
Post by: Organisys on 14 June 2010, 12:05
Just make sure you get good quality reps if you go down that route as poor ones can crack or bend, especially if the roads you use are anything like the ones I drive on.

Right, two rear tyres FUBAR, due to wear on the inside edge from the camberz.

Gone up to 225/40/18 on all four wheels (Quattro means the rolling radius of all four need to be the same) and raised the car 20mm as it is going to be used by my wife as a daily soon, and I am going to be using her A3.

Car now looks wack as a result!!!  However, needs must and at least it can now be driven around at a more rapid pace and the state of the roads don't leave you needing a Physiotherapist.
