Right then folks this is the start of it all...

i've been after a mk1 golf for a while now, not necessarily a gti, but one thats solid underneath.
Well that day has come, and yes the body work is a little tatty, well who am i kiddin, its well tatty. BUT it is solid...

here she is....

Well then folks what do you all think (be nice  :undecided: please)

Spec At the mo....

1500 GL
Gambia red metallic ( got to check)
Auto
5 door
Cream/Tan cloth interior
Dark Brown dash
all button etc work!! WOW!!
(apart from the handbrake warning light)
new exhaust
1 Yrs MOT til 03/07

NOW what i want to do....
Straighten her up...body panels and scratches etc... probably gonna have a respray at a later date
ATS cup alloys and or G60 steelies ( may be steelies for now)
chrome replacement...wing mirrors/door handles grill & vw badge front
volkswagen    script rear badge
deep front spoiler (probably gti)
Smoked X hair crystal H/lights
SMALL chrome front and rear bumpers
Crystal front indicators
and i might slightly smoke the windows (  :undecided: )
also want the vented quarter windows
Single wiper conversion maybe ???

For the interior...i'll probably just spruce it all up a bit.. theres NO wear on the drivers seat?!?!?!
but there are some stains etc

i say it'll stay the same but who knows?!?! hahaha
so there it is.

and my Dog seems to like it too!

so there we go..... its gonna take a while, but i'll try to add something every month.

Lets Go!

right then folks, this is what happens when ive got some time on my hands. ie when the Mrs goes out for the arvo?!?!

after closer inspection the drivers wing had a rust hole at the top of the arch and a massive dent in it so, i thought what the hell and decided to remove it.......well after alot of cursing and cutting through muchos wax and mastic it finally came of....

i was on a roll so i decided to get rid of the front and rear bumpers too. quite easy after 1/2 a can of WD40

then, as the headlight was cracked it had the heave-ho treatment too..

grill came off in one peice aswell, with all original clips intact!! well impressed with that!!

the overiders on the bumpers have a washer jet in them so they were saved, maybe for use later

I forgot to mention that the suspension and brakes will have a seeing to aswell...(might aswell do that when the wing is off)
and i think that was all...oh and i started to take off the wiper motor but cut my hand and gave up for the time being..............wheres that hammer

all in all not a bad start to proceedings i think you'll agree.

(the missus thinks im loopy though to rip it all apart)

i havent posted on this for a while now as the Mrs has had me puttin in a new staircase...

i have been collecting bits and pieces for the car though...like these

http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/

i found someone selling an old radio, i had to have it ( new one going in the glove box ) to keep it retro..

also chrome petrol cap, chrome surround to complete.

new door pins for the rears as they have been changed for the gti ones at some point.( if any one wants them pm me and we'll sort summin out)

ive also got a "GOLF" badge?? not decided on this yet, so it may get the heave ho'

these mirrors were a bargain..... a bit of a spur of the moment buy, as they were cheap..... but they might do until i can get hold of some chrome flag type mirrors

http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/

next job for me is to strip the interior, and knock out some dents in the doors...

then its bodywork time. ive found a scrap yard that has quite alot of decent old golfs in,  so im off hunting when i have a spare minute.
