site offline 23/5/12 10am
« on: 22 May 2012, 18:28 »
The forum will be offline as of approximately 10am Wednesday 23rd May 2012 for maintenance work.

This is expected to take a couple of hours.

So by all means give the forum the morning off, go and enjoy the sunshine, clean your car.... or do some real work

Well, it took a bit longer than I planned but we are now back in the game.

On a new server - be gentle

Rules of life #34726-7B: server downtime will always last longer than expected.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Indeed. I was being optimistic as I love to read Kirk, Jay and Guy moaning about downtime. I picture them as 3 wise old owls who know so much about linux/mysql/php/apache config but they just don't want to share it

A few of the first posts were one hour forward. Server time fixed but the old timestamped posts remain.

I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...
