I'm glad you asked!

I went straight from a Manual 230pp to a DSG 245 and i am surprised at how much quicker the Mk7.5 feels. It's not just me either, the first time my wife drove the car it was her first comment when she got out.

Whether its the DSG, and the different gearing, but in 2nd and 3rd the car feels so much quicker and responsive, much more than 15bhp would have you think. Maybe its the increase in BHP and Torque that work together??

In the Mk7, i felt the Torque limiting was felt too much in 2nd gear, which seemed to really dull the acceleration at times, whereas I feel 2nd gear in the 7.5 is really quick, and its still only on 600 miles...

I really wanted a pedal box in the Mk7 to see if it improved things, but I have no such desire right now for the 7.5.

I also like the deep exhaust sound of the 7.5. I couldn't hear the exhaust in the 7.

The FL PP has 15 more horses and 20 more torques.

Also there was speculation that the 7 speed DSG has closer gear ratios from 1-6 and faster changes.

I never drove a pre facelift GTI or any Golf R.

All I know is my car is a great everyday driver. And when I pull back on the selector for S mode and use the flappy paddles my wife complains

With DCC - it is even reasonably comfortable on our rural roads.

The extra 15hp probably offsets the weight of the dsg box compared to the manual.

Don't you slide it across to M to use the paddles?!
