Title: cv joint removal

my mates trying to change his hubs, but problem is that we can get the shaft out the hub its seized in been wacking it pretty hard but its not moving at all. even had some heat on it but its a no go.

whats the next step?

got my second hand replacement hub with the driveshaft joint still in was pretty easy to separate the shaft and joint..

if the cv wont come out the hub that may be the best bet to either get another cv joint or a hub assmebly with the joint still in

sorted it, as gerbil said, we just got another hub (bolts to the suspension and ball joint) from mad4vw's and stuck on the new hubs and hey presto.

If they get really tight you can let the car back down on the spare wheel with the loose hub nut and whack it with a punch. If you get desperate a full on sledgehammer and grind the end of it off cause it will be now squashed.

I would suggest using a sledgehammer will damage the wheel bearing.
The only way to do it is a puller really.
