Small update, not really had the time to do too much and its been really cold. Got the engine out and more or less have the engine bay stripped of everything. Took the loom right out the back off the fuse box as last time its was just a pain on the mk3 and got in the way.



Removed...



Engine bay. Still got to get it up on axle stands and drop the subframe.



Classic Mk2 bulkhead rot, only place there is any rot on the whole car. Will just cut it out and weld in new metal, you wont even know it will have been done once its finished. Will more than likely fabricate some sort of heat shield to stop it heating up in the future.

Cheers mate, although it will be slow progress from here on. Not rushing this one like i did with the mk3.

Not quite sure yet but will prob keep it an original 8v, although might use a 2.0 bottom end as the bottom end of mine needs rebuilt.
