y
I have the non turbo version, got the leather put in and once a new engine is fitted its got a magnaflo cat back, inclosed ind kit, kent cam's and will have some head work done witha Remap, should get in the figures of at least 160ish im hoping, you will never get fuigures near the 1.8 T version tho.

Head work and cam's is the way forward, that straight from a VW mechanic who works onthwe motorsport side.

With respect even with all that work you will not see 160bhp

+1

Been tuning NA cars now for 12 years and to get from 115bhp to 160bhp is a major task, when we tune the 2.0l C20XE redtop engines stock power (152bhp) with fast road cams, direct-to-head, throttle bodies, Omex D600 wated spark ecu ect we find it hard to get gains of 35bhp peak.

n/a tuned cars sound the nuts

So youi really think 35 + is not achievable with all that work done? I want to keep the car so could you advse on another typer of engine that will fit in?

Nope, I very much doubt you will see 35bhp.

You could always fit a 1.8t but then your building what you can buy.

im i right in saying that there are no power gains to to had from the golf gti (115 bhp)??
im taking on the wifes 02 plate and selling my vectra sri 140. im quite puzzled that a 2.0
engine cant be tuned...i was looking to mabey get her up to 130/140 bhp, im not a speed deamon
but i feel the same as other posters that the golf is a bit lacking in mid range..i agree the car is
awsome to drive its smooth and has everything you could want but a bit more grunt would be nice :)

    sory misread post mine is the mk5 does this still apply ????????/
