« on: 07 March 2009, 20:48 »
ive not got a clue which engine code i have ( will post it soon when i find out )... but im looking to get some more power out of my 1999 golf gti but i want to keep it as standard as posible... just to let everyone know i dont currently have anything else done to the car.... so just want some advice.... the cars done 90K but has had full VW service history and has been well looked after by the previous owner..... i would put a filter on it and stuff but dont want it to sound dead loud...

bacically i want a bit of advice and i aould appriciate it if anyone could help me out...

im located in machester... so prices for mobile remapping and things would be apreciated too... also am also not bothered about anyone slagging my idea off type of thing so if you fink its daft that the amout of miles or that i dont want anythin else on it and to keep it standard then please say as i am new to the whole power gains things... thanks

Your should be an AGU with the K03 turbo. You can gain about 40BHP with a remap which will see you to 190BHP and it will be a great improvement. R-Tech will come to your house to do it and will charge under £200 which is a steal if you ask me.

you may want to look at getting a Forge CL007p recirculation valve as the old ones are prone to split with remaps. These can be had for around £90. It will NOT create the scooby dump sound as this is bad for the 1.8T engine.

or a R-TECH recirc valve is more or less identical at £55 and get nick to fit it when the remap is done!!btw a remap for ur AGU is only £150 all in til the end of the month!!!!! GET IT DONE ASAP

It's definitely a good idea. Fuel consumption will be roughly the same s long as you don't floor it everywhere. Original recirculation valves tend to suffer when more BHP is introduced.
