Cats

And not the fuzzy variety.

Had my tracking done Sunday and the kind peeps at kwikfit let me know my cat is blowing at the rear joint and is almost completely broken through, I've done a quick repair with a sleeve but need to replace soon.

I've been looking through the net and have found a few likely cats but I'm dubious on buying a cheap one after a bad experience with my Astra.

Any preferences on brand etc I've mostly looked on eurocarparts, gsf and such.

Cheers

Get a decat; you don't need one for MOT

Thought about but I'd rather keep the emissions lower and the car mod free, been there with my 200sx can't be bothered with mods anymore ;)

Why??

Your tax bracket won't change and you'll get a bit of a performance boost. Decats tend to be cheaper too

Your money though

Gains are minimal anyway but it will improve the driving experience

Decat is most likely your chespest option if you want to keep the car on the road

Yeah i figured the gains were minimal without a bigger bore exhaust to match.
I actually had a look into decats for prices and a decent one was about £150 and a cat from eurocarparts is £114, although I could get both for what halfords and kwikfit quoted.
Just not looking forward to fitting it as exhausts are a ball ache ;)

You can get decat pipes on eBay for about £60 and they even have a fake cat shell wrapped round them so you don't have issues when it comes to the MOT inspection.
